“Health from conception” is a project of Polski Lek, addressed to women from Ukraine who have come to Poland and want to stay with us for some time or permanently. Our goal is to help future and young Ukrainian mothers understand Polish healthcare. We want to support you in the difficult experience of motherhood away from home, providing support in all aspects of health – yours and your children’s.

We want our support to help you feel safe in your new environment. We are convinced that thanks to our activities your stay in Poland will be pleasant and peaceful. As part of the “Health from Conception” project created for you, we want to focus on the following activities:
Help in understanding the Polish healthcare system:
Pre-pregnancy counseling
discussion of tests that are worth doing before a planned pregnancy, information about their costs, and places where they can be done.
Support during pregnancy
discussion of the stages of pregnancy, information on required tests, support in preparing for childbirth, information on its costs.
Pre-natal training
discussion of birthing methods, hospital procedures and equipment, and the role of the partner during birth.
Support in motherhood
discussion of rights and obligations towards the child, information about breastfeeding, hygiene and care of the newborn.
Caring for your child’s health
discussion of the vaccination schedule and check-ups for children that will ensure the health and proper development of the child.
Help in contacting a doctor and pharmacist:
Learn the most commonly used phrases that will help you communicate with your doctor and pharmacist.
Discussion of Polski Lek products aimed at women and mothers, such as vitamins and supplements for children and adults.
Discussion of the work of a pharmacist and the principles of operation of a pharmacy.
Advice on when you should definitely see a doctor and how to express your concerns during a medical visit.
